Privacy Policy

Effective June 2, 2026

The short version: FilingSheet does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal information. It has no servers and no accounts. Everything happens inside your own browser.

This policy explains how the FilingSheet browser extension ("FilingSheet," "we," "us") handles information. FilingSheet is a product of Whetstone. We built FilingSheet to be private by default, and this policy describes exactly what that means.

1. What we collect

Nothing. FilingSheet does not collect personal data. We do not have a server, a database, or a user account system, so there is nowhere for your data to be sent and no way for us to see how you use the extension. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, or third-party trackers of any kind.

2. How FilingSheet works with data

When you look up a company, FilingSheet requests that company's financial information directly from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's free public API (data.sec.gov and related SEC.gov addresses). These requests go from your browser straight to the SEC. They do not pass through us, and we never see them.

As required by the SEC's fair-access policy, those requests include a standard identifying header containing the extension name and a contact email address. This is sent only to the SEC, only to identify the software making the request, and is the same for every user.

3. Information stored on your device

FilingSheet uses your browser's local storage to remember small preferences — for example, the last company you viewed or your settings. This information:

Any spreadsheet you export is saved directly to your computer's downloads folder by your browser. We never receive a copy.

4. Permissions we request, and why

FilingSheet does not request access to your browsing history, your other tabs, your files, your location, your camera or microphone, or any accounts.

5. Third parties

The only external service FilingSheet contacts is the SEC's public EDGAR system. Your use of SEC.gov is governed by the SEC's own website policies. We have no relationship with, and share no data with, any advertiser, data broker, or analytics provider.

6. Children's privacy

FilingSheet is a general-purpose financial research tool and is not directed to children under 13. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If FilingSheet adds features in the future that change how data is handled (for example, an optional paid tier), we will update this policy and revise the effective date above before those features take effect. Material changes will be reflected here on this page.
